Mercedes EQE SUV: Facts about the SUV variant of the business sedan

The EQE SUV is the fourth model, following the EQS and EQE sedans and the EQS SUV, on the brand's new all-electric platform

. Mercedes assumes that the total drive performance after certification will be similar to the EQE e-sedan. The range is given by the manufacturer as up to 590 kilometres. The range of the AMG variants, which are also to be launched, will be less than this. The innovative battery management software developed in-house also enables updates over the air (OTA).

The EQE SUV shares some aerodynamic measures with its model brothers. The underbody with its numerous aerodynamic details plays a central role in an excellent cd value, which was achieved despite the large load volume and short rear overhang. But the dimensional concept with the flat windscreen, the roofline and the retractions were also important factors.

Mercedes states that the chassis of the new EQE SUV comprises a four-link axle at the front and a space-link axle at the rear. Due to the comparatively short wheelbase of 3,030 millimetres and the corresponding chassis tuning, it already appears particularly agile and manoeuvrable with the basic setup. AIRMATIC air suspension with ADS+ continuous damping is available as an option. To increase ground clearance, the vehicle level can be raised by up to 30 millimetres.

In driving mode itself, the EQE SUV can make use of the familiar Dynamic Select programmes: Eco, Comfort Sport and Individual. The EQE SUV variant with 4MATIC drive also has the additional Offroad programme for driving off paved roads. Rear-axle steering with a maximum steering angle of 10 degrees is available as an option. The name says it all when it comes to navigation with Electric Intelligence. It plans the fastest and most comfortable route, including charging stops, based on numerous factors.

The heat pump is integrated into the EQE SUV as standard, which means that the system works very efficiently: The waste heat from the electric drive (inverter and e-motor) and the high-voltage battery can be used to heat the interior. This reduces the need for battery power for heating enormously and increases the range. Another pleasant and efficient function is pre-air conditioning.

When the energy in the battery is running low, it can be recharged with up to 170 kW. This means that the EQE SUV can recharge 220 kilometres in 15 minutes. The power consumption of the EQE SUV is quoted between 21.8- 17.7 kWh/ 100 km (EQE 350+), 22.5- 18.5 kWh/ 100 km (EQE 350 4MATIC) and 22.7- 19.0 kWh/ 100 k (EQE 500 4MATIC) per variant.
