Concept EQT Marco Polo: First glimpse of the micro-camper
With the Concept EQT, Mercedes-Benz Vans gave a concrete preview of the first premium vehicle for families and leisure-oriented private customers in the small van segment: the T-Class and its fully electric variant. With the Concept EQT Marco Polo, the manufacturer gives a preview of the near-series concept vehicle. It comes as a fully-fledged micro-camper based on a small van. Its premiere is expected to take place in the second half of 2023.
Before that, a first, simple camping solution is already available in the form of the Marco Polo Module: with the flexible module with a bed and kitchen unit that can be installed and removed, the new EQT, which is also celebrating its premiere, is ready for camping in no time at all. Mercedes explains that the combination of a modern drive concept and an innovative camper interior is convincing. At the same time, it is suitable for flexible everyday use thanks to the option of completely removing the camping elements in just a few steps.
In addition to the new EQT's entry into "all-electric" camping, the electric vehicle also demonstrates how alternative drives can also show their strengths on journeys. Especially in the case of the battery-powered Concept EQT Marco Polo.
Thanks to the protected, low-centre-of-gravity and space-saving installation of the battery in the underbody, it offers almost the same interior variability and functionality as the conventionally powered T-Class. In addition, the privately positioned, all-electric Small Van based on the T-Class offers, among other things, a low loading sill, practical sliding doors and the typical Mercedes standard of comfort, connectivity, value and safety.
Mercedes is still keeping quiet about the EQT's electric drive. Since the EQT will be based on Renault, it can only be assumed that it will have similar technical specifications. The Kangoo Rapid E-Tech Electric has a 44 kWh battery in the underbody and an electric motor with 75 kW power on the front axle.
