Jeep shows an all-electric Avenger with all-wheel drive

At the Paris Motor Show, SUV brand Jeep unveiled the all-electric Jeep Avenger 4×4 concept car.

The all-wheel drive car embodies the freedom theme of the new Jeep Avenger, which is already available with front-wheel drive, and combines design, performance and innovation in a compact body, the manufacturer said in a recent statement. The eye-catching and distinctive new addition is designed to complement Jeep's range of future 4xe models.

From the outside, the 4×4 concept car can be recognised by its twin tow hooks, wider wings, wider track and larger, partially free-rolling and aggressive tyres. To further enhance the Jeep Avenger's capabilities, the front banking angle has been increased to 21 degrees, the rear banking angle to 34 degrees, and the ramp angle is 20 degrees. Ground clearance is now more than 200 millimetres. The front has additional protection with thicker cladding. Additional floodlights are fitted to improve visibility at night.

The Avenger 4×4 Concept Car shows a new lightweight roof luggage system that uses a belt system to secure the luggage directly on the roof. To this end, it is coated with scratch protection along the entire length of the roof. The overall package is completed by an anti-glare film on the bonnet and scratch protection for the front grille.

Unfortunately, Jeep does not yet provide any information on the technical data. So in this respect, we can only speculate: The already available standard version with front-wheel drive has an engine with 115 kW (156 hp) and 260 Nm torque. Jeep may put the same engine in the rear for the all-wheel drive layout. That would give a combined output of a good 230 kW (306 hp). The two-motor Jeep Avenger could also get the 54 kWh battery of the front-wheel drive model, which has a range of a good 390 kilometres according to WLTP measurements. The more powerful and heavier all-wheel-drive Avenger, however, might not get quite as far on one battery charge. The Avenger 4×4 is said to be available at the end of 2023.
