2024 Vauxhall Insignia Electric: Specifications, price, release date
It's a car that still comes from a completely different era.
After all, the current Insignia embodies Vauxhall's last American. Just a few weeks after the second model series was launched in 2017, the French PSA Group took over the German automaker from General Motors. Meanwhile, PSA has also merged with FCA to form Stellantis. The third generation of the new mid-size Vauxhall is then expected to be launched in 2024 with French technology. The future Insignia will share the "EMP2" platform with the Peugeot 508, DS 9, and Citroën C5 X.
Visually, the new Insignia is likely to have the new brand face. In keeping with tradition, the third model series will again be available as a sedan and a station wagon. The Vauxhall flagship will continue to be built at the Hessian headquarters in Rüsselsheim in the third generation.
Under the hood of the Insignia III, there will probably be three- and four-cylinder gasoline engines. The power range is said to extend from 130 to beyond 200 bhp. Vauxhall is also likely to remain loyal to the diesel. A plug-in version is also planned. The all-electric version should bring it to a range of more than 497 miles. The pure e-model is likely to be based on the new "STLA Large" platform recently announced by Stellantis. The price should be just under 50,000. By 2028 at the latest, all-new Vauxhalls will roll off the production line fully electric.
