The limited first version of the Polestar 6 e-roadster sold out after one week

Swedish e-car brand Polestar is reporting a pleasingly good response to reservations for its launch edition of the Polestar 6.

The electric roadster concept car made its public debut in North America at The Quail and Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance motorsport events in California. Within just one week of the production announcement, the first limited production slots of 500 had already been reserved.

The Polestar 6 LA Concept edition, expected to be launched in 2026, is an exclusive first version of the Polestar 6, receiving the unique Sky Blue exterior colour and many other features of the Polestar O2 concept car first unveiled in March 2022. In response to the strong demand for the Polestar 6, the company plans to offer reservations for additional production slots for the regular production version of the Polestar 6 during 2022.

"The great interest from our customers shows that a stunning electric roadster like the Polestar 6 is highly relevant in the sports car sector," says Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar. The combination of open top and electric drive appeals "even to the most die-hard combustion fans", the Polestar boss continues.

With the addition of the Polestar 6 to its portfolio, the e-car maker is on track to launch four new electric cars within five years. This will start with the world premiere of the company's first electric performance SUV - the Polestar 3 - in October 2022, followed by the Polestar 4 electric SUV coupe in 2023 and the Polestar 5, a four-door electric GT based on the Precept concept car, in 2024.
