SsangYong Korando e-Motion (2022)- Specifications, price, release date

 The brand's first fully electric vehicle - the new Korando e-Motion - is celebrating its premiere, and it is to go on sale in Europe in the beginning of 2022. 

Visually, the electric Korando stands out from its conventionally powered sister models with blue color accents and a closed radiator grille. And the new rims also bear witness to aerodynamic improvements. So SsangYong is not changing anything in terms of dimensions. The model is 4.45 meters long, 1.87 meters wide, and, depending on the equipment, 1.62 or 1.63 meters high. With these dimensions, the Korando e-Motion will be somewhere between the VW ID.3 and VW ID.4.

The new Korando e-Motion is powered by a 140 kW (190 bhp) electric motor. The power unit is supplied with energy by a 61.5 kWh battery, which should enable a range of 210 miles. The Koreans do not mention the maximum charging speed. However, according to the manufacturer, the battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in 33 minutes via fast charging.

SsangYong does not reveal further technical data yet. But the starting price is now known. The price starts at 38,990 euros in Germany.

Three equipment variants are available: Bronze, Platinum, and Titanium. The entry-level version comes with automatic climate control, the keyless smart key access system, light and rain sensors, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display behind the multifunction steering wheel, and a smart audio system with an eight-inch touchscreen, smartphone integration, six speakers, and a rearview camera. Safety is provided by the "Deep Control" assistance systems, which combine an automatic emergency braking system, lane departure warning, traffic flow assist, traffic sign recognition, attention alert, and adaptive cruise control.
