Renault 4 Returned In The Form Of An Air Car 2021-11-28
The first generation Renault 4, produced between 1961 and 1994, became one of the symbols of the mass motorization of Europe: more than 8 million copies were produced.
At the beginning of this year, it was reported that Renault will revive the "four" in the form of an electric crossover - its design has already been shown on the patent pictures, but serial production will begin in 2025.
In light of the return of Renault 4 on the market, the press service of the French company will periodically remind about this model.
The body of the Air4, which houses the pilot (there are no seats for passengers) only superficially resembles the classic Renault 4, but in fact it is a carbon fiber shell without doors, mounted on a frame. The aerocar is supported on the ground through four legs.
Despite its very short development time, the Renault Air4 does fly, though the YouTube promo shows, in fact, only a takeoff from the ground and landing. TheArsenale website honestly states that the current flight altitude is only 15 m and the theoretical altitude is 700 m.
The propulsion system, of course, is electric: a lithium-polymer battery with a capacity of 90,000 mAh powers the electric motors. Cruising speed is about 90 km/h.
Until the end of the year, the aero car will be exhibited at the Renault atelier on the Champs-Élysées in Paris along with other unusual versions of the Renault 4.
