2023 Polestar 3 - The official premiere in October 2022-Price

In October 2022, the Polestar 3 electric performance SUV will be officially unveiled.

Before that, we have already seen some teaser images which have revealed a glimpse of Polestar's first SUV. Four months before the official world premiere, the electric SUV can be seen without camouflage for the first time. With the electric SUV, the start-up will take on one of the fastest-growing and highest-margin segments in the automotive industry.

This dominates the market, especially in the United States. It is therefore not surprising that the Polestar 3 comes off the production line at the plant in Charleston, South Carolina in the USA. The electric car is to be nothing less than one of the "most climate-friendly cars of all time", as CEO Thomas Ingenlath told investors and the press at a series of events in New York. Polestar 3 will also enable autonomous driving on the highway in due course, supported by Luminar's industry-leading LiDAR sensor and centralised NVIDIA computing power. At launch, Polestar 3 is equipped with a dual-motor drive and a large battery to achieve a range of over 600 km (WLTP).

Polestar 3 is said to represent the debut of a new generation of Volvo Car Group's electric car architecture, designed from the ground up for full electrification. The aerodynamic electric performance SUV is said to have industry-leading connectivity features based on Google's native Android Automotive OS infotainment system. Confirming the official world premiere, Polestar is showing off the Stromer unveiled for the first time. In the relevant launch markets, Polestar 3 will be available to order from the day of the premiere. Production is expected to start in early 2023, with the Polestar 3 being produced in China and the United States.

In addition, it is intended to completely redefine the SUV segment. More sustainable, more aerodynamic and simply different in its overall appearance. It's a case of letting yourself be surprised. At Polestar, the e-drive is not seen as the end of sustainability, but as its beginning. As can be seen in future-oriented projects such as "Project 0". An e-car that is to be manufactured completely emission-neutrally from 2030.

"Polestar 3 is the SUV for the electric age. Our design identity continues to evolve with this large high-end luxury electric vehicle with a strong individual brand character. With this vehicle, we are bringing 'sportiness' back to the SUV, true to our performance roots. This is an important milestone for our company, accelerating our growth trajectory and taking us to the next phase." - Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar

He said the plan is to launch a new vehicle every year for the next three years, starting with the Polestar 3. Likewise, the brand will expand its presence to at least 30 global markets by the end of 2023. By expanding into the new markets, launching three new vehicles and continuing to expand in existing markets, Polestar plans to increase its global sales tenfold from around 29,000 vehicles in 2021 to 290,000 vehicles in 2025. In other words, the focus is clearly on growth.
