Volvo refreshes electric models XC40 and C40
With a new offer structure that will apply to all Volvo models from the 2023 model year, Volvo Cars aim to simplify the configuration process online: Customers will henceforth be able to choose from several trim levels and, if they wish, add various options that best suit their personal needs. By concentrating on attractive, pre-selected variants, the Swedish premium brand wants to increase price transparency and reduce the complexity of the model range.
With a comprehensive makeover, Volvo wants to make the electric version of the XC40 more attractive: Among other things, a new bumper and a new headlight design adorn the front. For the new model year, Volvo also wants to emphasise the kinship of its electric cars in particular. The Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric is therefore visually closer to its all-electric sister model: as with the C40 Recharge Pure Electric crossover coupé, a frameless radiator grille characterises the face of the XC40 Recharge. While the exterior can be customised with new paint finishes and rims, new leather-free premium seat upholstery is available in the interior.
Second powertrain version for Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric
The all-electric Volvo C40 Recharge, which was recently awarded the Top Safety Pick+ by the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for its high safety level, comes in an additional drive version: As a supplement to the all-wheel-drive version, an entry-level model with a 170 kW (231 hp) electric motor and front-wheel drive is now available. In combination with a 69 kWh high-voltage battery, it offers a range of up to 423 kilometres in the combined WLTP cycle. At fast-charging stations, the battery can be charged from ten to 80 per cent within 32 minutes.
The Volvo C40 Recharge Single Motor Pure Electric expands the Swedish premium carmaker's all-electric range. The entry price for the electric crossover is 48,850 euros. With this, the company wants to encourage even more people to switch to electric mobility. From 2030, only fully electric models are to be sold.
