Volkswagen Starts Production of ID.5

Volkswagen started production of the ID.5 at the Zwickau factory.

Volkswagen started the production of ID.5 and ID5 GTX. The German brand, which converted its Zwickau facility into an EV production facility to start production, completed this transformation.

Volkswagen launched the ID.5 and GTX in November. Volkswagen ID.5, which comes with a 77 kWh battery pack, produces 172 hp and 310 Nm of torque. The Pro Performance version produces 201 hp and 310 Nm of torque, while the GTX version produces 295 hp and 310 Nm of torque.

According to Volkswagen reports, the Pro and Pro Performance versions have a range of 323 miles (520 km). On the other hand, GTX provides 298 miles (480 km) travel opportunity on a single charge.

Volkswagen spent about 1.2 billion Euros to produce electric vehicles at its Zwickau factory. Most of this investment went to the development and expansion of the body shop, which is 90 percent automatic.

ID.3, ID.4, Audi Q4 e-tron, Q4 Sportback e-tron and Cupra Born models are produced in this factory.
