Skoda starts production of the new Enyaq Coupé
Series production of the new Skoda Enyaq Coupé iV has started at Skoda's main plant in Mladá Boleslav.
Like the fully battery-electric Enyaq iV, it is based on the Modular Electrification Toolkit (MEB) from the Volkswagen Group. More than 120 units of the Coupé are now being produced daily at the main plant alongside the Enyaq iV, Octavia, and the plug-in hybrid Octavia iV model series.
In the future, 2000 employees will assemble more than 120 units of the Enyaq Coupé iV per day on the same production line alongside the Enyaq iV and Octavia. The two Enyaq iV variants are the only models based on the Modular Electrification Building Block (MEB) from the Volkswagen Group to roll off the production line in Europe outside Germany.
The Enyaq Coupé iV combines sporty lines with the brand's usual generous space and offers a boot capacity of 570 liters. The standard panoramic glass roof is the largest in the current Skoda portfolio and takes up the entire roof area. At the same time, it is thinner than the full roof, giving passengers extra headroom.
The drag coefficient has been improved again compared to the Enyaq iV. It now stands at cw 0.234, contributing to the Enyaq Coupé iV's high efficiency. The maximum range - depending on the equipment - is up to 545 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.
As part of its NEXT LEVEL - Skoda STRATEGY 2030, the carmaker is resolutely driving forward the electrification of its model portfolio: by 2030, Skoda intends to launch at least three more fully electric models, which will be below the Enyaq iV in terms of size and price.
The goal is to increase the share of all-electric models in European sales to between 50 and 70 percent by 2030, depending on market developments. In this way, the company aims to reduce its fleet emissions by more than 50 percent compared to 2020. At the same time, Skoda is working to develop its home country, the Czech Republic, into an electromobility hub: E-components or E-vehicles are to be manufactured at the Skoda sites in Mladá Boleslav, Kvasiny, and Vrchlabí by 2030 to secure jobs and create new ones.
