Renault Unveils  The New Austral-Price and Features

Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but you can expect it to cost more than the current Renault Kadjar. Around £22,000 seems sensible.

The Austral is currently entering the “confirmation tests”, during which around a hundred prototypes will have to cover around two million kilometers , by lands of France, Spain, Germany and Romania.

With these tests, Renault hopes to validate, for example, the configurations and regulations foreseen for the new CMF-CD3 platform , as well as the performance of driving support technologies, the quality of soundproofing, or even the comfort of the suspension.

The Austral's powertains will be all  gasoline and electrified . Most of them are even unprecedented in the car manufacturer's offer: a new generation E-Tech Hybrid engine, a 1.3 TCe mild-hybrid 12V engine and a completely new 1.2 TCe mild-hybrid 48V engine.

With these options, Renault hopes to offer record levels of efficiency , with emissions from 105 g/km of CO2, in addition to a maximum power of up to 200 hp.
