New Range Rover Sport Arrives in 2023
The current Range Rover Sport will be replaced by a third-generation in 2023. The new model will use an evolution of the MLA platform: the MLA Flex.
Thus, the conventional Sport will follow in the footsteps of the Range Rover. It will feature a 48V Mild Hybrid system with outputs between 246 hp and 395 hp.
There will be a much more powerful plug-in hybrid system, combining a 3.0 gasoline engine with a 141 hp electric motor. With a 31.8 kWh battery, it will be capable of 100 km in 100% electric mode.
Meanwhile, Land Rover also plans to launch an all-electric proposal of this Range Rover Sport by the end of the decade.
This engine will not only allow important gains in terms of performance, by guaranteeing the same 616 hp announced in the BMW X6 but also fuel consumption.
The future SVR should be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 4 seconds, as well as to reach the 290 km/h of maximum speed. These values will allow it to beat rivals such as the Aston Martin DBX, the Porsche Cayenne Coupé, the Lamborghini Urus, or the Maserati Levante Trofeo.
