Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV: First details, price & teaser

Demand for Mercedes-Benz products remains high, as the manufacturer revealed when looking at the 2021 figures.

The decisive factor for this is certainly the fact that more and more new models or variants are being introduced, especially in the field of pure e-vehicles. The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, the first fully electric luxury SUV for up to seven people is to be presented in a fortnight. The electric vehicle has no less than the goal of redefining its segment.

The EQS SUV is the third model based on the new modular architecture for electric vehicles in the luxury class. It brings the unmistakable Purpose design to the SUV segment, as the car manufacturer explains. For example, the new model combines the progressive design and comfort of the EQS Sedan with the spaciousness and versatility of the popular SUV concept. In addition, digital, intuitive controls and innovative equipment features merge in the interior to create an avant-garde ambience. The responsive 4MATIC all-wheel drive and an intelligent OFFROAD driving programme also ensure a wide range of usage options, Mercedes-Benz continues.

With the EQS SUV, Mercedes-Benz will probably not yet follow the path envisaged in January 2022. But it will certainly already combine various approaches of the longer-term strategy. At the time, Mercedes-Benz indicated that it wanted to reinvent the concept of the traditional SUV to improve the efficiency of its next generation of electric cars. This was hinted at by Daimler boss Ola Källenius at the presentation of the EQXX. This thinking is expected to result in a more aerodynamically efficient design for their models in the important and increasingly popular SUV segment to offer customers a greater range per battery charge.
