IONIQ 5 Wins Another Car of the Year Award

This victory underlines Hyundai's leadership in mobility technology.

Hyundai Motor Group's (HMG) all-electric sustainable mobility model IONIQ 5 took the top spot in the "Best Cars of the Year" 2021/2022 awards, which was held for the first time. Models who are joint world champions were selected by a jury that included global industry leaders. Evaluated in terms of quality, innovations, design and the latest technology criteria they offer, the models symbolize the future in electrification.

The IONIQ 5 stands out as the first model of the electric vehicle (BEV) brand that the company launched in 2021. A modern interpretation of retro design, IONIQ 5 stands out with its eye-catching V-shaped lamps. The lines on the front and rear of the vehicle converge on the doors to show the 'Parametric Dynamic' design concept. The new E-GMP platform, which is used in all-electric models, offers a 3,000 mm wheelbase thanks to its short front and rear overhangs. Thus, very generous proportions are achieved in the interior. Offering a great comfort and spacious living space with such a combination, the car also offers its user a superior driving experience in terms of dynamic performance, ultra-fast charging and mobility. The scalable modular platform E-GMP distinguishes all Hyundai EV models from each other, allowing them to be in different segments and different exterior designs.
