GHG quota: Millions ripped off at public charging stations?

Due to the energy crisis, the prices for electricity are rising significantly, which also affects the costs for charging electric cars, which affects all private and commercial electric car users. The BBM recently took a stand on the announced price increase of charging station providers and called on politicians to apply the electricity price brake to charging stations as well.

The GHG quota is a climate protection instrument to reduce CO2 emissions. Oil companies have to reduce their emissions by a certain percentage every year, otherwise they face penalties. As an alternative to reduction, companies can participate in certificate trading and buy GHG quotas. These are paid out for electric cars or the operation of publicly accessible charging stations. This means that charging point providers receive money for each charging point - currently between 15 and 20 cents per kilowatt hour.
