First Great Wall Motor's e-cars comes   in 2022 

 

Now the Chinese car manufacturer, together with the Emil Frey Group, is paving its way onto the German market. The first models of the GWM brands Ora and Wey are expected to hit the road before the end of 2022.

Great Wall Motor will unveil a comprehensive and technologically leading range of vehicles for the European market before the end of the third quarter of 2022, and will provide further insights and previews of its innovative product range at the Paris Motor Show 2022 next October. GWM is currently in talks with the Emil Frey Group to extend the cooperation to other European markets. Concrete countries have not yet been named. Only the fact that the first electric vehicles will be on the road in Germany from the fourth quarter of 2024 is a given.

The Chinese group will start in Europe with the fully electric Funky Cat model of the Ora brand and the plug-in hybrid Coffee 01 of the Wey brand. "For GWM this is a milestone on the way to Europe, this cooperation project with Emil Frey sets the course for our market entry and for the way to our customers who expect our vehicles", saysXiangjun MENG, Head of Europe Market of GWM, about the cooperation.

Wolfgang Kopplin, Member of the Executive Board of the Emil Frey Group, classified the cooperation as follows: "When we met for an initial discussion with the GWM top management at the beginning of 2020, I was immediately convinced of the technical maturity and quality of the vehicles. The reactions of the trade visitors and interested parties at the IAA Mobility 2021 in Munich showed that the vehicles from GWM are perceived as very innovative and attractive."
