Electric Station Wagon MG5 Electric Starts From £27,945.00
One electric car that has been waiting for a long time is the MG5 Electric from British manufacturer MG Motors.
In the UK market, MG5 Electric is offered at prices between £27,945.00 and £30,420.
The MG5 Electric should offer everything you can expect from a station wagon in the C segment in terms of practicality and functionality. With a length of 4,600 mm, a width of 1,818 mm, and a height of 1,543 mm, the station wagon offers a spacious interior for the whole family, with a total of 27 storage compartments at the front and rear. At the same time, the MG5 Electric offers a lot of utility - thanks to its generous luggage space of 479 liters, which can be expanded to 1367 liters with the rear seats folded (60/40).
The practical and functional character of the MG5 Electric is further underlined by its maximum trailer load of 500 kg, the maximum vertical load of 50 kg, and the roof load of 75 kg with a curb weight of a good 1.6 tons. This makes it suitable, for example, for a bicycle rack and a roof box.
Up to 400 kilometers range
From the market launch in March 2022, the MG5 Electric will be available with a 61.1 kWh battery and a range of 400 km according to the WLTP measurement. The front wheels are driven by an electric motor that delivers 115 kW (156 hp) and 280 Nm of torque. The standard version with a 50.3 kWh battery and a range of 320 km (WLTP) will follow at a later date. In this case, the electric motor has an output of 130 kW (177 hp) and 280 Nm.
Both battery variants should offer attractive driving performance and a top speed of 185 km/h. The sprint to 100 km/h takes 8.3 seconds. In addition, the standard and maximum versions offer the option of three-phase charging at a public charging station (AC) with up to 11 kW. Both are also able to charge the battery from five to 80 percent in around 40 minutes with up to 87 kW of direct current fast charging.
Four colors and two trim levels
The new MG5 Electric is offered in four body colors (Dover White, Pebble Black, Diamond Red, and Medal Silver) and two trim levels: Comfort and Luxury. Even the Comfort version offers extensive standard equipment, including air conditioning with a 2.5 µm particle filter, LED headlights and taillights, heated front seats, parking aid, a 7-inch digital display, a leather-covered multifunction steering wheel, 16-inch Alloy wheels, keyless entry, and much more.
The luxury version combines all the equipment of the comfort version with additional features such as automatic climate control, 360-degree parking camera, dimming interior mirror, electrically adjustable driver's seat including lumbar support, synthetic leather upholstery, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Also standard is the high level of safety with nine advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) grouped under the name MG Pilot. These include adaptive cruise control, front collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and traffic jam assistant.
