Another MINI JCW Spotted 2022-02-10
The second Mini John Cooper Works facelift after 2019 has been relying on the power of the familiar 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine since 2021 at a price starting at 33,150 euros (as of February 2022), whose technical data show 231 hp (170 kW) and a maximum torque of 320 Newton meters. Since the last model update, the unit has been equipped with a gasoline particulate filter integrated into the sports exhaust system and thus complies with the Euro 6d-Temp emissions standard. With the standard six-speed manual transmission, the little Brit accelerates to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds, with the optional eight-speed Steptronic in 6.1 seconds - accompanied by an "emotionally powerful drive sound" that escapes from the sports exhaust system with two tailpipes, each 85 millimeters in size. Negative deceleration is provided by a Brembo sports brake system with four-piston fixed caliper brakes and internally ventilated front discs. As standard, the Mini John Cooper Works Facelift (2021) rolls forward on 17-inch alloy wheels; 18-inches are available as an option.
Speaking of wheels, they offer a new version of the adaptive suspension as an option for the Mini John Cooper Works Facelift (2021), which is designed to provide a better balance between sportiness and comfort. Also new is the hexagonal radiator grille, which has a red cross strut and now extends far down. It is flanked by the round LED headlights typical of the brand. Enlarged cooling openings in the front apron are intended to provide improved temperature control for the powertrain and braking system. At the rear, the new, distinctive diffuser is visible. New equipment options include a heated steering wheel, lane departure warning, and a stop & go function for the cruise control. Like all model-upgraded Minis, the Mini John Cooper Works Facelift (2021) gets the redesigned central instrument cluster with an 8.8-inch touch display.
