2022 Citroen C5 Price list and Specs 2022-01-12

The French SUV, spacious and comfortable, quite compact (four and a half meters long, 170 cm high and 186 wide and with a wheelbase of 273 cm), is a comfortable and popular five-seater (the seven-seater version is not planned). A little over a year ago, the best-selling BlueHdi 180 (diesel, in this category, is still dominant) was also the subject of one of our onboard diaries.

Inside, the new design of the 10" touchpad and central console reinforces the character of the cabin, in tune with the latest models from the manufacturer, such as the C4 and C5 X. New seats, console from which the gearshift disappears, replaced by buttons, freeing up space for the smartphone, while the previously horizontal vents become vertical, below the screen. For its part, the 12.3" digital instrument cluster, which can be customized, allows the driver to have in his field of vision all the information he needs, as required, from the navigator's map to information on active driver assistance systems, or on the operating flow of the Plug-In hybrid system.

The rest is about the details, to create a more luxurious environment with new fabrics and leather effect inserts in black, visible blue stitching, in different declinations (Wild Black, Urban Black, Metropolitan Black, and Hype Black, with perforated leather and blue Nappa leather). At the driver's fingertips, the e-Toggle gear selector, the one for driving modes, which can incorporate the Grip Control function on the thermal engines and, on the plug-in hybrid versions, the choice of the desired driving mode (Electric, Hybrid or Sport). In terms of cabin versatility, the C5 Aircross remains the only SUV in the segment to offer three individual rear seats, which slide, recline and fold, and which also make it possible to make the most of the trunk, from 580 to 720 liters in the thermal version and from 460 to 600 in the plug-in.

Safe journeys and 55 km in electric mode. Let's close with the engine range, on which for the moment no revolutions have been announced. The three-cylinder turbo-petrol 1.2 PureTech and the four-cylinder turbo-diesel BlueHDi remain, but the plug-in petrol-electric hybrid, powered by a 1.6 petrol engine and accredited with a total of 225 bhp, is increasingly central to the offer. It guarantees the advantages of driving in electric mode for distances of up to 55 kilometers (and up to 135km/h without starting up the thermic), on condition that it is recharged at the recharging point or wall box at home and, obviously, unlimited autonomy for long journeys. On the Adas front, finally, the C5 Aircross has 20 driver assistance systems, including Highway Driver Assist, a level 2 system that combines active speed control (with Stop&Go function) with active warning of unintentional exceeding of the lane line.
