1.8 litres of fuel consumption and 188 hp: this hybrid SUV is currently available at a favourable leasing price

For a long time, the Mitsubishi Eclipse was only available as a combustion engine. In March 2021, the Japanese launched the popular SUV not as a fully electric vehicle, but at least as a plug-in hybrid. With a combined 188 hp, it combines driving pleasure with the economy: the four-cylinder is trimmed for efficiency and consumes 1.8 litres of super per 100 kilometres - provided you charge it consistently. As is usual for PHEVs, the purely electric range is only 50 kilometres.

The speed is maximised to 135 km/h in silent driving mode; with the combustion engine switched on, a maximum of 162 km/h is possible. The 13.8 kWh battery takes four hours to charge at a normal wall box. At the fast charging station, it takes just under 25 minutes to charge the battery to 80 per cent - a real novelty, after all, fast charging options for PHEVs are extremely rare.

You should not expect sporty driving dynamics from the battleship: with a maximum torque of 195 Nm at 2,500 rpm, you should allow enough time for the overtaking manoeuvre. Steering and brakes could also be more snappy.

In this particular offering, the Eclipse comes with automatic climate control, a multifunction steering wheel, heated front seats and numerous assistance systems. You don't have to do without DAB reception either.
