VW Passat Sedan a To Be Axed 2022-01-07

Production of the Volkswagen Passat sedan has ended, but the van continues to be produced.

The brand points out the Arteon saloon as an alternative.

Long discussed, the end of the Volkswagen Passat sedan still came sooner than expected, with a spokesperson for the brand revealing that the four-door sedan bodywork is no longer in production — it can no longer be ordered .

The Passat sedan was already expected to disappear in 2023 with the arrival of the new generation of the model. 

Also influential in the demise of the Passat sedan was the fact that Volkswagen had Arteon in its range. The Arteon has the advantage of having five doors (it's a liftback ) and of having a more premium positioning than the Passat.
