VinFast announces prices  of the  VF 8 and VF 9

Vietnamese carmaker VinFast announces the technical specifications of the VF 8 and VF 9 models.  

VinFast aims to offer customers in major markets attractive choices and a high degree of flexibility, the manufacturer said in a recent statement.

The e-models VF 8 and VF 9 recently completed intensive test programmes in winter and wet conditions as well as high-speed tests in Sweden and Spain. In Europe, VF 8 and VF 9 are expected to be available from the second half of 2022 - in Eco and versions, each with two battery options.

The VF 8 will come with an 82 or an 87.7 kWh battery, with a range of up to 471 kilometres (WLTP) based on the larger battery in the Eco variant. The e-SUV offers a maximum power of 260 kW (354 hp) and a torque of 500 Newton metres (Eco version) or 300 kW (408 hp) and 620 Newton metres (Plus version). With its dimensions of 4750 x 1934 x 1667 millimetres and a wheelbase of 2950 millimetres, the VF 8 offers space for up to five occupants. They are protected by a EURO NCAP 5-star rating, and a comprehensive package of driver assistance features, including Emergency Brake Assist, 360-degree all-round vision and Lane Keeping Assist, as well as eleven airbags.

The Eco model comes standard with 19-inch aluminium wheels, heated and eight-way adjustable leatherette seats, dual-zone automatic climate control with heat pump, heated steering wheel, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen and vehicle monitoring. It receives over-the-air updates. The Plus model offers 20-inch aluminium wheels as standard, with 21-inch wheels optional, heated and ventilated as well as twelve-way adjustable leather seats with memory function, a power tailgate and a power panoramic roof.

Up to 594 kilometres in the VF 9
The six- or seven-seat VF 9, measuring 5118 x 2254 x 1696 millimetres and a wheelbase of 3150 millimetres, is available with a 92-kWh or 123-kWh battery pack. The larger battery is said to ensure a range of up to 594 kilometres (WLTP) in the Eco version. The large e-SUV offers a maximum power of 300 kW (408 hp) and a torque of 620 Newton metres. The VF 9 Eco is equipped with 20-inch aluminium wheels, eight-way electrically adjustable and heated leatherette seats, heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control with heat pump, a 15.6-inch central screen, electric tailgate, Matrix LED headlights, 5 stars in the EURO NCAP test, eleven airbags and the same driver assistance systems as the VF 8.

The VF 9 Plus adds 21-inch aluminium wheels, and optional 22-inch, twelve-way adjustable, heated and ventilated leather seats with memory and massage functions. The optional six-seat variant comes with eight-way adjustable comfort seats, panoramic glass roof, three-zone automatic climate control and an eight-inch screen in the rear.
