Mercedes GLE Coupé Facelift (2023): Specifications, price, release date

The Mercedes GLE Coupé facelift follows on from an already eight-year presence of the brand in this vehicle class.

The Mercedes GLE Coupé Facelift (2023) will continue to drive forward with the engines we know. These are the three-liter in-line six-cylinder produce 367 (269 kW) and 435 hp (320 kW) as gasoline engines. These and all other powertrains are equipped with 48-volt technology.  The two plug-in hybrids produce 333 hp (245 kW) as a gasoline engine and 320 hp (235 kW) as a diesel. Very likely, the two top versions AMG GLE 53 with 435 hp six-cylinder (320 kW) including electric assistance and AMG GLE 63 with up to 612 hp V8 Biturbo (450 kW) will not change either. What price Mercedes will call for the revised GLE Coupé is speculative - but possibly a bit more than the currently around £79,000. The Mercedes GLE Coupé Facelift will be presented at the end of 2022, and the market launch will be in early 2023.

The changes are evolutionary: The sheet metal has been touched only minimally at best, with the focus on the radiator grille and the lighting graphics of the headlights and taillights. This is indicated by the corresponding foiling on the prototype we photographed in Northern Europe during winter tests. This one doesn't give us a glimpse of the interior, but we already know from other prototypes that the interior remains true to itself: The Mercedes GLE Coupé Facelift (2023) should benefit from the MBUX update and the latest steering wheel generation, but not from the vertical XXL screen from S-Class.
