Mazda starts pre-orders for new plug-in hybrid CX-60

The new top-of-the-range crossover model is based on a completely new platform and is offered in four equipment lines.

Pre-orders for the new Mazda CX-60 e-Skyactiv PHEV are now available at all Mazda dealers, and interested customers can also find out more online. Prices start at 47,390 euros for the Prime-line equipment line - minus innovation premium plus manufacturer's share amounting to 7177.50 euros gross. In addition, a six-year Mazda manufacturer's warranty (up to a maximum of 150,000 km) is already included when a purchase is made from 14 March 2022 as part of the Mazda Advantage Weeks. Deliveries of the first customer vehicles are scheduled to begin in June this year.

The most powerful Mazda ever
The new Mazda CX-60 e-Skyactiv PHEV is the most powerful road car Mazda has ever built. The plug-in hybrid drive system, comprising a 2.5-litre Skyactiv G inline four-cylinder petrol engine with 141 kW / 191 hp and a 100 kW / 136 hp electric motor, develops a system output of 241 kW / 327 hp and a maximum system torque of 500 Nm. The battery has a capacity of 17.8 kWh, enables a purely electric range of 63 kilometres (according to WLTP) and contributes to safe and superior driving characteristics due to its deep placement in the vehicle structure. The top speed in purely electric drive mode is 140 km/h.

The battery can be charged at an 11 kW AC wall box via the two-phase onboard AC charger with a maximum charging power of 7.2 kW. Fuel consumption is 1.5 litres per 100 kilometres in the combined WLTP cycle, corresponding to CO2 emissions of 33 g/km.

The CX-60 is Mazda's latest evolution of its Kodo design approach and is the new flagship model in the crossover portfolio. Inside, different materials and surfaces, including maple wood, Nappa leather, Japanese textiles, chrome accents and detailed stitching on the instrument panel combine to create a Japanese-influenced ambience.

New and enhanced technologies are designed to intensify the connection between driver and vehicle, which Mazda describes with the term Jinba Ittai. One example is the new Driver Personalisation System: it uses a camera to detect the position of the driver's eyes and automatically adjusts the surroundings - seat position, steering wheel, exterior mirrors and head-up display - after the driver has entered his or her height. In addition, the system allows previously-stored personalised settings, including sound and climate settings, to be automatically recalled.

Other technology highlights of the Mazda CX-60 include Mazda's Mi-Drive (Mazda Intelligent Drive Select) driving mode switch with five driving modes including all-electric EV Mode, next-generation 360° Monitor with See-Through View for an expanded field of view, rear cross-traffic exit warning (BSM Vehicle Exit Warning) and Kinematic Posture Control (KPC) - a unique driving stability system that minimises body roll when cornering.

The four equipment variants of the CX-60
Even in the base Prime-line version (from £47,390), the Mazda CX-60 e-Skyactiv PHEV AWD features include dual-zone automatic climate control, Mazda Connect with high-resolution 12.3-inch colour display, digital radio (DAB+), digital instrument cluster with 12.3-inch colour display, Mazda SD navigation system and wireless smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, full LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and taillights and rear parking assist. Emergency Brake Assist (SBS) with pedestrian and cyclist detection and new intersection function is standard, as is Lane Keeping Assist with Steering Assist (ELK), Lane Change Assist Plus (BSM) with Steering Intervention, Drowsiness Detection (DAA), Traffic Sign Recognition and the new BSM Vehicle Exit Warning.

From the Exclusive-line (from 49,090 euros) onwards, these are joined by an Advanced Head-up Display, a keyless entry system, front parking aid, a reversing camera and heated front steering wheel and seats, among other features. A high-quality look is provided by a radiator grille and windscreen frame in Piano Black, 20-inch alloy wheels in Silver Metallic and a light signature at the front and rear.

The sporty Homura equipment line (from €51,390) combines body panels painted in body colour with striking black design accents. Inside, the Mazda CX-60 Homura has a black leather interior. Also based on the Exclusive line is the Japanese-inspired Takumi equipment line (from 52,890 Euros), which offers a particularly stylish ambience in the interior with, among other things, a Nappa leather interior in white and also sets high-quality accents on the outside.

Depending on the equipment line, various option packages with additional comfort and technology features are available. The colour range includes various metallic paint finishes as well as the new special colour Rhodium White.

The Mazda CX-60 is the first of two new crossover models based on a new "Large Platform" architecture to be launched in Europe over the next two years. As a plug-in hybrid powertrain, the Mazda CX-60 e-Skyactiv PHEV is an important part of Mazda's multi-solution strategy for sustainable mobility. This follows the principle that there is a suitable drive solution for different applications.
