IONITY prices rise by 57 percent for Mercedes drivers

Rising electricity prices make electromobility an incalculable risk. At least this is the statement when you listen in on the automotive industry.

They fear the future of electric cars in Germany. This could be true if one looks at the joint venture charging network IONITY of car manufacturers. Mercedes-Benz was the first OEM to announce a massive price increase for its customers in the IONITY network.

In March, the IONITY prices for Mercedes drivers in Germany will increase by more than 50 per cent, depending on the monthly package. A corresponding mail with new prices was sent out on Saturday evening. Felix Hamer has classified the whole thing accordingly on his blog Electric Felix.

From 01 February 2023, the prices will increase. Some of them massively. Although the monthly basic fee for the  Mercedes me Charge package will be reduced by almost 28 per cent, the kWh price will increase significantly. There is still no minimum contract period. Until now, charging at IONITY charging stations was possible in this package for 0.35 euros/ kWh; from March, the price will rise by 57 per cent to 0.55 euros/ kWh.
