Ford sold out of e-cars till 2024

Ford CEO Jim Farley has revealed in an interview with Fox Business that his company wants to deliver about 600,000 electric cars in 22 months.

This seems bitterly necessary because, as Farley continues, Ford CEO Jim Farley said at the Cera Week energy conference, the company is already "sold out for a couple of years". The acceptance of orders for the Ford Mustang Mach-E has been stopped and then reduced to three variants.

The only models still available for order are the base Mach-E Select and the top-of-the-line Mach-E GT and Mach-E Performance Edition. Confirmed delivery times of six months have meanwhile turned into twelve months. However, no Stromer has yet been delivered. Nor is there any delivery insight. Ford had previously announced that it would triple production of the popular Mustang Mach-E and increase it to over 200,000 units per year by 2023. Combined with Ford's upcoming all-electric e-transit van, this makes us very optimistic about future electric vehicle production.

Delivery times for their e-pick-up don't look any better technically. Since its launch, Ford has been taking reservations for the F-150 Lightning with a refundable $100 deposit and reported that 20,000 reservations were received on the first day and 44,000 reservations for the F-150 Lightning within 48 hours. By the beginning of December, the company had managed to break the mark of over 200,000 reservations. Understandably, they adjusted their planning. Anyone who wants to order an F150 for 2022 will be told that no more reservations will be accepted. Orders for the 2023 model year will be taken again in the summer.

At the beginning of March 2022, the headline figures were increased again. Ford is accelerating on electrification. The carmaker today announced plans for seven more all-electric vehicles for Europe - three passenger cars and four commercial vehicles. The new Ford Model e global business unit is to focus on development, production and sales. This is to support the goal of selling more than two million e-cars worldwide by 2026.
