Cupra equips the Born with more power

Cupra has equipped the Born with more power:

As of now, the sporty e-model of the Spanish VW brand can be ordered in two different versions, each with a maximum output of 170 kW (231 hp). The two versions are available with the already familiar 58 kWh battery as well as with the larger 77 kWh battery. The e-Boost Activator on the steering wheel provides the sporty kick at the touch of a button. The additional power of 20 kW (27 hp) can also be activated by kicking down with the accelerator pedal.

With the top-of-the-range engines, customers can choose between maximum performance or maximum range: With the lighter 58 kWh battery, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is only 6.6 seconds, 0.4 seconds less than with the somewhat heavier 77 kWh battery. On the other hand, the latter provides a range of up to 548 kilometres according to WLTP - over 100 kilometres more than the 58-kWh variant. Furthermore, both versions offer an additional driving profile: in addition to "Range", "Comfort", "Performance" and "Individual", there is the dynamic "Cupra" mode.

Starting price below 40,000 euros
The entry-level price for the Cupra Born with 170 kW (231 hp) is 38,600 euros for the version with the 58-kWh battery. The model with the larger 77 kWh battery starts at 44,300 euros. Both variants come as standard with the heated Cupra Supersport multifunction steering wheel in leather with Cupra Mode Selector and Cupra e-Boost Activator, as well as gloss-turned 19-inch "TYPHOON Black/Silver" alloy wheels and 340 mm diameter front disc brakes.

"With the two new, even more, powerful versions of the Cupra Born, we are underlining the sportiness of our young brand," says Bernhard Bauer, Managing Director of Seat Deutschland GmbH. Cupra stands for "passion and performance. The fact that these two attributes can also be fully developed in conjunction with sustainable electric mobility is something that our customers will now be able to experience even more distinctly at the latest."
