Audi Stops Production of Q2 and A1

Audi Stops Production of Q2 and A1

Audi has confirmed that the next generation of the Q2 model will not arrive.

Audi CEO made important statements.Audi's CEO Markus Duesmann has confirmed that new generations of the A1 and Q2 will not be developed. He said that this decision was taken to produce larger and more premium models. Thus, the A3 and Q3 will now be entry-level models.

"We have decided not to produce the A1 anymore and it will not be a successor to the Q2. We have also restructured Audi as a premium brand. We will limit our model range at the bottom, and expand it at the top." said.

The Q2 model was introduced in 2016. Based on the MQB platform, the Q2 competed with the VW T-roc and Skoda Kamiq.

The cessation of production of the Q2 and A1 allows Audi to increase its investments in electric vehicles. In addition, Audi will now move closer to brands such as Porsche and Bentley.

In 2026, we will meet Audi's new ICE engine models. After 2030, it will become an all-electric brand.
