2023 Mercedes EQE Shooting Brake Details 2021-12-21

2023 Mercedes EQE Shooting Brake Details 2021-12-21

The fashionable Mercedes EQE Shooting Brake (2023) shares technology with the already familiar sedan, but the price is likely to be higher. We expect a range of up to 410 miles.

The Mercedes EQE Shooting Brake (2023) is supposed to be another step into Mercedes' all-electric future. After all, - the market launch will be in mid-2022 - it has been clear that the model series is to grow step by step into a model family. In February 2022, for example, the brand plans to present the first EQE AMG variant. And in 2023, the sporty Shooting Brake luxury station wagon is expected to follow.

Its shape is also characterized by the curved silhouette, which the manufacturer calls "One Bow Design. In typical EQ fashion, the taillights form a continuous strip of light. The Shooting Brake's dimensions are also based on those of its technical counterpart: the sedan is 4.95 meters long and has a wheelbase of 3.12 meters (current E-Class: 2.94 meters).

In the interior, the relationship to the EQE and EQS is once again clear. In addition to the two basic configurations, each with two separate screens in different sizes, the Hyperscreen is available as an optional extra. The 141-centimeter wide glass panel has a surface area of 2432 square centimeters and three screens. The third of the bunch is aimed at the front passenger seat and only becomes active when someone is sitting there. The trunk volume of the Mercedes EQE Shooting Brake (2023) is likely to be slightly higher than that of the sedan; the earlier sloping roof takes its toll here.

There is still no official information about the powertrains of the Mercedes EQE Shooting Brake (2023), but it is also worth taking a look at the sedan. So far, only the 215 kW (292 hp) EQE 350 with rear-wheel drive has been confirmed for the sedan - with a maximum torque of 530 Newton meters.

According to WLTP, the range is up to 410 miles, which is what we expect for the Shooting Brake. The charging power is also likely to be identical. With a maximum charging speed of 200 kW, the sedan charges to 80 percent SoC (State of Charge) within 32 minutes. When the Mercedes EQE Shooting Brake will be launched is still speculative at this point. We expect a market launch in 2023. The same applies to the price of the electric luxury station wagon. This is likely to be above the price of the EQE sedan, which Mercedes has not yet named either.
