2022-2023 Volkswagen ID. Californi-Price and Details 2021-12-10

Volkswagen has confirmed that there will be a camper version of the electric ID. Buzz.

The model will be called ID. California, but will not be on the market until 2025.

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz will be marketed in two lengths, so we assume that the ID. California will be based on the long-wheelbase version. Because the electric powertrain of the ID. Buzz is compact, the ID. California will be more spacious inside than comparable motorhomes with a fuel engine. 

Volkswagen has already confirmed the upcoming Volkswagen ID Buzz will use a selection of batteries from 48kWh to 111kWh in size. Range-topping versions could have as much as 342 miles of range.

Volkswagen ID. Buzz / ID. California with a range of up to 341 miles

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz comes  with a battery capacity of 111 kWh. This should enable a WLTP range of up to 341 miles. The drive is provided by a single electric motor at the rear wheels with an output of 204 bhp, just as in the Volkswagen ID.3 and ID. 4.  A version with two electric motors will also be marketed.

The ID. Buzz will also come with advanced autonomous technology.

The petrol- and hybrid-powered model is expected to cost from £50,000.
